Had to cut a pretty big hole in the case to allow room for the cables to do the right angle down. If you came in low enough with the DB25, you could probably use the straight connector rather than the right angle.
The packing material that comes with the 18M is two pieces stuck together, then a lid. I took the bottom part off and used the lid as a new bottom.
I didn't want to destroy my original base until I knew the project was going to work. You could probably just cut out of the original base and make things go easier.
I started with a cutout for each wire bundle. I wanted to allow the cables to come up so they could be easily plugged in.
I also wanted to make sure I didn't remove the support under the battery. You'll notice in this picture, the base sits a little low. I fix that a bit later with some additional spacers. (If you just cut up the original base, you wouldn't have this problem.)
I had to cut out a little of the side to allow room for the back of the DB25 connector.
(If you went low enough, you could probably just go straight in instead of using the right angle connector.)
