Since I used the lid instead of the original base, I needed to add a little extra padding/spacers to make it sit flush with the case.
I just glued some foam onto the bottom. If you cut up the original base, you wouldn't need to do this.
As the foam is a little squishy, I added some of the thicker padding that I cut out earlier to the edges. You can see some of the outer edges have an extra layer added in this picture.
